Domenico Cataldo was born in Cercola, near Naples (Italy) on 13th May 1974. He moved with his family at first to Rome, and next to Como at the age of 7. He began to study guitar in the teenage, inspired by The Edge (U2), Mark Knopfler (Dire Straits), Eric Clapton, Jimi Hendrix, Santana, later he landed to the analys of more distorted sounds but as much elegant, Joe Satriani, Steeve Vai, John Petrucci (Dream Theater), Vernon Reid (Living Colour). He deepened the study of his instruments, signin’ on the “Musician Professional Centre", where he approached to the study of jazz, in the same time he performed live with various bands, first of all “VINICIOUS” and “RED WINE”, in the clubs of the countries of Como and Milan. In 1997, with the goal to inprove his position, he attended a stage in the Valtur village in Nicotera Marina where he played in front of a large audience, and under the guide of some tutors, he got a better knowlege about performing. At the end of that experience he was contacted by a line up calld “ULTIMA STIRPE” with wich he tooks part, in 1998 at the festival EMERGENZA ROCK, and accessed to the Northen Italy semifinal at PALACONCERTI AQUATICA in Milan. In the same year, after he left this band, he recorded PAY ATTENTION his first CD, including two of his own instrumentals songs, wich got various radiofonic inclusions and good reviews by newspapers and local and national radio stations, it was followed an inclusions in some Ucrainan palinpsestes. In the same time he were required by LPS (Sound Projection Lab), a band composed by old friends, with this line up he signed up again, in 1999 at EMERGENZA, winning the regional final to B52 in Milano, and recuring to the Northen-Italy semifinal at PROPAGANDA ever in Milano. He remainedwith LPS till 2003, realysing the firstCD of the band “MEMORIE DAL SOTTOSUONO (Memories from undersound)”. Essential was in 1999, the friendship with MASSIMO GHIANDA, keyboard player, arranger and composer he too, with wich he founded the INFINITY, so began the four hands writing of songs included in theCD “THE VOICE OF THE LANDSCAPE” in wich Cataldo, beside to be a music composer, discovered himself as lyrics writer too, the project was realized in 2004, year of beginning of the promotion, this work obtained excellent reviews and inclusions in the programs of radio stations in various parts of Italy. Since 2001 to February 2005 he took part of “LA QUINTAUMENTATA”, line up wich proposed live, songs from Latin America, this project was the way to deepen language and style of this kind of music wich offered a huge variety of cues. In 2006 he took part to the contest BOLOGNA MUSIC FESTIVAL accessing to the national semifinals proposing his own material. He has conduct, since 1995 guitar teaching on his own . 2008 has seen the production of EVENTI CICLICI (Cycilcal Events), the second own CD. In 2009 Cataldo performed live with Angelo Ravasini, historycal Italian singer, wrote and recorded music for promotional video of Pixel Association - Florence, and publish music lessons on the web site arquen.net. In 2010 was producted the last record THE WAY OUT by the label Videoradio, in the same year, the new band, DOMENICO CATALDO RISING PROG, is ready for live concerts, and The Way Out wins the award "ART RECORD OF 2010" for the blog GOOD TIMES BAD TIMES. In 2011, a new collaboration begins, about realization of video guitar lessons for the web site ELECTRIC GUITAR LEARN. Since September, the new single track CATACLISMA is avalaible on I-Tunes Store.
